My Story
I started FFXIV when the game was still in ARR, but since I was in my early teens, I wouldn't ask my parents to pay for a monthly sub, and the free trial only lasted 15 days. Flash forward to around 2016 when I purchased the game. I believe I took a break to focus on school, then in 2018, that was when my journey truly began. I made it to *that* scene after the Vault and knew I was in love. Since then, I've been playing regularly with a break every so often.
My first venture into high-end content was with a group that I was introduced by someone who was in the same SINoALICE guild at the time. Up until then, I assumed I wasn't a good enough player, so I never joined them in Shadowbringers content. When Endwalker hit, I was offered to join as a DPS. They encouraged me to at least try and I realized I was too hard on myself (what a shocker). Quickly realizing I wasn't the only one with learning disabilities (Somehow I'm really good at learning video games, but real life knowledge? Nonexistent.) as well as other related conditions, I felt seen and understood. Agreeing that we would only do the "easier" high-end content, we completed Zodiark EX, Hydaelyn EX, Endsinger EX, Barbie EX, Rubicante EX, P1S, P2S, and P5S as they released, but then life happened and we disbanded. I don't have the will to go into PF completely alone, so I haven't done anything high-end since then.
That aside, I usually run trial and normal raid roulettes on a daily basis. I used to do alliance raid roulette, but since the iLevel changes, I've gotten a Crystal Tower raid 95% of the time, which I drop immediately. If there were actual mechanics to do and job "rotations" that didn't make me fall asleep, I'd stay. In terms of non-combat, I've recently started big fishing and caught a decent amount of ARR fish.
2025: Some of us got back together for the Cruiserweight tier. We have since gained new members, but unfortunately, due to real life obligations, our leaders had to step away. The M6S add phase is currently our roadblock.
